Following the tragedy at the stadium on July 5, where two supporters lost their lives, the Ministry of Sports organized a mourning period with a minute of silence observed during the weekend’s sports competitions. However, supporters expressed their discontent by displaying banners to convey a message about the dilapidated state of the country’s sports infrastructure.
The banners read, “We don’t have the same colors, UNITED AGAINST INCOMPETENCE” and “Those responsible must pay.” The supporters are urging the government to take action to improve the condition of various stadiums.
The Minister of Sports mentioned that specific measures would be taken by the government, stating, “The Technical Construction Control (CTC) services will, from today (Sunday), assess the scene of the tragedy, and if it is necessary to close the stadium right away, we will close it.” The government is expected to address the concerns raised by the supporters and take steps to enhance sports infrastructure.
