Noah Sadiki opens up on Sunderland future

DR Congo international Noah Sadiki has refused to rule out a possible summer departure from Sunderland following an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League.

The midfielder has quickly established himself as one of Sunderland’s standout performers since arriving at the club in July 2025, enjoying a breakthrough season that has reportedly attracted growing interest from elsewhere.

Sadiki has become a regular figure in Sunderland’s setup, making more than 30 appearances across all competitions and earning praise for his maturity, composure and versatility in midfield.

Despite the increasing speculation surrounding his future, the Congolese midfielder insisted his current priority remains helping Sunderland finish the season strongly before turning attention to any transfer discussions.

“My future? I still have two matches to play with Sunderland, then the World Cup, which will be very special for the Congolese people,” Sadiki said.

“And as for the rest, we’ll see next season when the time is right.”

His comments have inevitably fuelled speculation that a move could be considered during the summer transfer window, particularly after his strong performances in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.

The 21-year-old has adapted impressively to Premier League football since joining the Black Cats, displaying tactical intelligence, defensive discipline and technical quality well beyond his age.

Sadiki’s rise has also been significant for DR Congo national football team, with the midfielder expected to play an important role for the Leopards at the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The tournament is set to hold special emotional importance for Congolese supporters, and Sadiki’s focus appears firmly fixed on representing his country on football’s biggest stage.

For Sunderland, however, retaining one of their emerging stars could become a major challenge if interest from bigger European clubs intensifies after the World Cup.

The Black Cats still have important business to complete before the season concludes, beginning with an away clash against Everton before hosting Chelsea at the Stadium of Light in their final league fixture.

Sadiki is expected to remain a key figure in those matches as Sunderland look to finish the campaign on a positive note.

Whether he stays at the club beyond the summer remains uncertain, but his latest remarks suggest that important decisions regarding his future could soon be on the horizon after a hugely successful first season in English football.
