DR Congo international Fiston Mayele has said his final goodbye to Egyptian outfit Pyramids as he is set to depart the club this summer.
The 29-year-old forward has become a subject of interest for several clubs on the African continent and abroad at large following an outstanding performance in the just ended season.
Mayele played a pivotal role, contributing to the Egyptian outfit’s historic CAF Champions League triumph. He scored nine goals to emerge as the topscorer in the 2024/25 campaign.
His tremendous performance did not go unnoticed, with clubs from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, including Al Fateh expressing interest in the forward. However, no official bid has been submitted to Pyramids.
In a heartfelt message, Mayele expressed gratitude to the club for the impressive two-year spell, signaling his departure from the team.
“Two seasons with Pyramids, 41 goals in all competitions. Thank you to the whole team and to everyone who helped me in every way. Alhamdulillah.” Wrote Mayele in Facebook.
It the just ended campaign, Mayele scored 18 goals and provided 2 assists in 38 appearances.
The 29-year-old striker still has one year remaining on his contract with the Egyptian club.
