DR Congo international Fiston Mayele is a major doubt for Pyramids FC’s upcoming CAF Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns.
In a highly competitive clash on Saturday, May 24, 2025, Sundowns (South Africa) will play host to Pyramids in the first leg of the final before the return clash in Egypt on June 1.
Mayele, who has been a standout performer for Pyramids is racing against time to be fit for the first clash. The prolific striker was left out of the squad to face Petrojet in the Egyptian Premier League after suffering a back strain during warm-ups.
He is expected to undergo a rehabilitation session ahead of the crucial match this weekend.
Meanwhile, Pyramids FC medical team are doing everything possible to get their star for the scheduled to take place at the Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.
The 30-year-old attacker has been impressive in the Champions League, racking up 8 goals in 11 appearances. In all competitions, Mayele has scored 16 goals and provided 2 assists in 35 appearances.
