DR Congo forward Cedric Bakambu played a key role for Real Betis on Sunday, providing an assist in their 2-2 draw against Athletic Club in the Spanish La Liga.

Bakambu started for the hosts and put in an energetic display before being substituted in the 64th minute for Lo Celso. His contribution was crucial in a game that saw both sides battle fiercely for control.

The match opened with an early breakthrough for Betis when Antony’s shot rebounded off the goalkeeper, falling perfectly for Isco, who made no mistake in finding the back of the net to give his side a 1-0 lead. Athletic Club responded in the 33rd minute through Aitor Paredes, who rose highest to meet an Alex Berenguer corner, heading home the equalizer.

Just before halftime, Romain Perraud restored Betis’ lead with a stunning long-range strike that sailed into the right post, leaving goalkeeper Unai Simón helpless. However, Athletic Club found their way back in the 69th minute when Oihan Sancet connected with another Berenguer corner, sending a powerful header into the roof of the net to level the score at 2-2.

Despite both teams pushing for a winner, the match ended in a stalemate, with Cedric Bakambu’s assist standing out as a key highlight of Real Betis’ performance.
