Dove Wome Nearing Exit from Mamelodi Sundowns
Togolese international Dove Wome seems to be on his way out of Mamelodi Sundowns, with signs increasingly pointing toward a departure. According to KickOff, Wome has been sidelined from the club’s plans under coach Pitso Mosimane and was left behind in South Africa while the rest of the squad traveled to Zimbabwe for pre-season training—a clear indication of his diminishing role at Chloorkop.
A club insider reportedly stated, “Wome is not with us. We left him in South Africa. He should leave,” highlighting the growing disconnect between the player and the club. Wome, who still has two years remaining on his contract, struggled for game time last season, playing a minor role in Sundowns’ championship-winning campaign.
With potential reinforcements like Kudakwashe Mahachi returning to the squad, Wome’s future at the club appears increasingly uncertain. However, all is not lost for the midfielder. Premier Soccer League rivals such as SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly interested in securing his services.
Fueling the speculation, Wome recently tweeted: “I will surely find a way out. When one door closes, a bigger one opens for you,” all but confirming his intent to move on. A transfer seems imminent as Wome looks to revive his career with more playing time and a fresh environment.
