Dové Womé Warns: “If We Lose in Uganda, We’re Out”

Womee Copier

Togo is facing a must-win match in their 2015 AFCON qualifying campaign, and midfielder Dové Womé is fully aware of the stakes. With zero points from two matches (1-2 loss to Guinea, 2-3 defeat to Ghana in Lomé), Togo heads to Uganda for their third qualifier in critical condition.

🔑 Dové Womé’s Key Points:

  • “If we lose in Uganda, we’re dead.”
Womé stressed the importance of securing points in Kampala to keep qualification hopes alive.

  • Focus and hard work are essential:

“We work very hard and go get these points. We need them. We want the 3 points.”

  • On playing alongside Emmanuel Adebayor:

“It’s always good to play alongside stars like Adebayor. I learn a lot from him. We talk a lot on the phone.”

  • On Ugandan striker Geoffrey Massa (current top scorer with 4 goals):

“He’s a good player… but I think our defenders can control him.”

⚽ Context:

  • Togo sits bottom of their group with 0 points.

  • Uganda, with home advantage and a striker in form, poses a real challenge.

  • Womé is in good club form, having recently scored in the Telkom Cup for SuperSport United.

🧮 The Math:

Another loss could all but eliminate Togo from AFCON 2015 contention, making this weekend’s match a do-or-die encounter.
