German Bundesliga side, Borussia Dortmund are reportedly considering extending the loan deal of Austrian midfielder of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka.
The club signed the youngster on loan from English Premier League side Chelsea in the winter transfer window until the end of the 2024/25 football season.
Although injuries have not been fair to the midfielder, he has still managed to make a good impression on the technical team and the players.
Impressed with the player, officials of Dortmund are reportedly considering extending his loan deal to cover the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup competition.
Dortmund believes his inclusion in their squad will ensure depth to give the team a good chance to compete.
Beyond extending the loan deal, the German Bundesliga side is reportedly interested in the permanent signing of Carney Chukwuemeka.
In the loan agreement with Chelsea, Dortmund can sign the Austrian-Nigerian for a fee of €35 million.
While Carney Chukwuemeka is happy at Dortmund, he has yet to decide whether he wants to stay in Germany for a longer period.
His future will become clear at the end of the season.
