Borussia Dortmund are set to miss out on the signing of French forward of Algerian descent, Rayan Cherki.
This follows the player’s decision to agree to a move to English Premier League club Manchester City.
According to several reports in the English media, Rayan Cherki has decided to move to Manchester City this summer after announcing his intent to leave Olympique Lyon at the end of the 2024/25 football season.
The club and the player have agreed on personal terms, and the forward will sign a contract until 2030.
Manchester City are prepared to pay around €35-40 million to make the deal official in the coming weeks.
Cherki’s expected move to Manchester City will be a big miss for Borussia Dortmund.
The German Bundesliga club had followed the player for quite some time and even came close to signing the attacker in the winter transfer window.
After missing out on the Olympique Lyon forward’s signing, Dortmund are said to have turned attention to Jobe Bellingham, the youngster brother of former star Jude Bellingham.
