Dortmund keeping tabs on Dutch-Nigerian striker Joshua Zirkzee
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly keeping close tabs on Dutch forward of Nigerian descent, Joshua Zirkzee, as uncertainty grows over the striker’s future at Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.
Zirkzee, a former Bayern Munich player, could be set for a return to Germany after a difficult spell at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old has struggled to meet expectations following his €42.5 million move, with his development reportedly stalling during his time in England.
According to reports from Teamtalk, Manchester United are open to letting the striker leave and have informed him that he can depart once a suitable offer arrives. The club is said to be targeting a transfer fee close to what they initially paid, despite his underwhelming performances.
Interest in Zirkzee remains strong across Europe. Italian sides Juventus, AS Roma, Atalanta, and Como 1907 are all reportedly monitoring his situation.
In Germany, both Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have also shown interest, though it remains unclear whether they will make a formal move given the player’s current valuation.
With his contract running until 2029, Zirkzee still holds long-term value, but the coming months could prove decisive in determining whether he revives his career in a new environment or continues his journey in the Premier League.
