The head coach of Borussia Dortmund, Niko Kovac, has revealed that the club will discuss a new deal for Austrian-Nigerian midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka at the end of the 2024/25 football season.
According to him, the club is delighted with the performance of the youngster, but securing his permanent signing will depend on many things.
“We’ll discuss that after the season. Carney is a very good footballer who found himself in a situation he wasn’t used to. He didn’t have as many minutes at Chelsea as he did here.
“He needs time to get used to it; there are ups and downs. We’re happy to have him. He’s showing his abilities, and I like him a lot. What happens in the summer depends on many things,” Niko Kovac said at a press conference on Friday.
The coach was speaking ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s clash against Borussia Mönchengladbach in the German Bundesliga on Sunday, April 20.
