Borussia Dortmund officials have contacted France-born forward of Algerian descent Rayan Cherki, expressing their desire to sign him.
The German Bundesliga club has long admired the youngster and want to secure his services as part of efforts to augment their squad for the 2025/26 football season.
In 2024, Dortmund tried to sign Rayan Cherki, but a deal could not be reached.
Cherki, in the past year, has significantly developed and improved his game at French side Olympique Lyonnais.
This season, the youngster has been one of the most exciting players in the French Ligue 1 and Europe.
Amid his outstanding performances for Lyon, Borussia Dortmund have renewed their interest in signing him.
Sources have revealed that Dortmund Sporting director Sebastian Kehl and head coach Niko Kovac have already spoken with Rayan Cherki and want to do everything to sign the forward.
As one of the key players at Lyon, Cherki could be allowed to leave if Dortmund can raise around 30 million euros.
