Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, leading the attack in the absence of Robert Lewandowski, expressed his disappointment after Borussia Dortmund’s heavy defeat against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu (0-3). Despite having chances, Aubameyang was unable to find the net, contributing to Dortmund’s defeat.
Reflecting on the match, Aubameyang acknowledged the missed opportunities: “We had chances but we didn’t convert. I’m disappointed with the defeat, we could have scored one or two goals but we didn’t succeed.” He also highlighted the absence of Lewandowski but remained optimistic about his return, stating, “We missed Lewandowski but he’s coming back and that’s a good thing.”
However, Aubameyang remains hopeful for a turnaround in the second leg: “Why not believe it… We know that in football, everything can change in one match.” Despite the significant deficit, he emphasized the potential for a different outcome, particularly with home advantage, expressing the hope for a “magnificent” 4-0 victory.
The return leg between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid is scheduled for the following Tuesday.
