President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has charged the Super Eagles to maintain momentum and remain focused on the ultimate goal of World Cup qualification.

The Super Eagles triumphed over the Panthers with a resounding 4-1 win after extra-time, confirming their place in the African playoff final, scheduled for Sunday, November 16 in Rabat, Morocco.

The West African football heavyweights takes on DR Congo in a high-stake final on Sunday, with the winner expected to participate in the intercontinental playoff, slated for March 2026.

“This is the true Nigerian spirit of resilience against all odds,” the President said. “Do not stop until you secure qualification. Super Eagles, keep soaring, the nation stands firmly with you.”

Meanwhile, Tinubu has eulogized the players following their outstanding victory over Gabon in the crucial 2026 World Cup playoff on Thursday.

“The performance is a clear expression of the Nigerian character that rises, adapts, and prevails,” the President said. “The team played with courage, balance, and precision.”

Tinubu extended his commendation to the entire national team setup, including players, coaches, and technical staff, for their unwavering commitment to the national cause, noting that their dedication continues to project Nigeria’s image as one of Africa’s football powerhouses.
