Djene Ntumba assumes coaching role at AS Otohô in Congo

Djene Ntumba has been appointed as the head of the technical staff at AS Otohô, the reigning champion club of Congo. The official announcement was made by the club on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, marking a notable addition to the coaching team.

Djene Ntumba, having recently departed from Daring Club Motema Pembé (DCMP), will embark on a new chapter in the Congo championship as the head coach of AS Otohô.

This seasoned Congolese coach steps into the role, succeeding the Frenchman Julien Mette.

The club shared the news of Ntumba’s appointment on its official Facebook page, stating, “We are pleased to announce the arrival of Djene Ntumba as the head coach of the first team.

Recently coach of Daring Club Motema Pembé (DCMP), Djene Ntumba knows the Congolese championship well.”

Djene Ntumba brings a wealth of coaching experience to his new position, having previously led the Djibouti national team.

At the club level, he managed the Racing Club of Kinshasa and Daring Club Motema Pembe (DCMP) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

His latest assignment involves guiding the six-time Congolese champion through the preliminary phase of the upcoming African Champions League season.

The appointment of Djene Ntumba reflects AS Otohô’s commitment to securing experienced and knowledgeable coaching staff as they set their sights on future successes in both domestic and continental competitions.

Football enthusiasts eagerly anticipate witnessing the impact of Ntumba’s coaching prowess on AS Otohô’s performance in the challenging African Champions League.
