This week seems to be marked by suspensions for African players in the French Ligue 1. Following the announcement of Eloge Enza-Yamissi’s suspension for the next two Valenciennes matches, there’s now news of the Burkinabé international, Djakaridja Koné, facing suspension. The information was revealed on the website of his club, Evian Thonon-Gaillard.
Djakaridja Koné’s suspension, currently selected with the Stallions for the first leg of the 2014 World Cup play-off against Algeria, is a result of accumulating a third warning in ten official matches. Consequently, he will be absent during the upcoming match against Guingamp on the 10th day of the French championship, scheduled for Saturday, October 19.
Koné becomes the third ETG player to miss this match, joining teammates Cédric Barbosa and Facundo Bertoglio, who will also be unavailable for the same reason.
