Drogba Rules Out Marseille Return, Focuses on Galatasaray Future
Didier Drogba has made it clear that a return to Marseille is not on the cards, despite ongoing speculation surrounding a potential move. The Ivorian striker, whose contract with Turkish club Galatasaray is set to expire, has no plans to extend his deal and has firmly ruled out a reunion with his former club.
The 36-year-old, who enjoyed a successful stint with Marseille earlier in his career, dismissed the rumors during an interview with Surface magazine, stating: “They don’t need me,” before adding, “It’s tiring” in response to the persistent speculation surrounding his future.
While a potential return to the French side had been floated, Drogba’s comments suggest that such a move is highly unlikely at this stage.
The powerful forward has continued to impress with Galatasaray, scoring 14 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions this season. Despite his advancing years, Drogba remains in excellent form and shows no signs of retiring from professional football just yet.
With his current contract running down, Drogba’s next steps remain the subject of interest, but a move back to Marseille seems increasingly improbable.
