Newly appointed Guédiawaye FC manager Ansou Diadhiou acknowledges the pressure to quickly deliver after his recent sacking by Casa Sports.
Speaking to Record SN, Diadhiou discussed his surprise dismissal just six matches into his Casa Sports tenure.
With two draws and four defeats, the former midfield enforcer understood the club’s rationale.
“The results of the moment decided my fate,” reflected Diadhiou. “A coach gets results – he stays. He doesn’t – he leaves. It’s the law of football.”
Within two days however, Diadhiou secured the managerial vacancy at Guédiawaye FC following their solid start towards a potential maiden trophy.
Promoted in 2021, the modest Dakar-based clubcurrently sit fifth in Ligue 1 after nine undefeated games.
“It’s a real pleasure to be in Guédiawaye, it’s a challenge to take on,” said an enthusiastic Diadhiou about his new opportunity.
“There is hope behind me and I must show good things to succeed in this mission.”
Seeking immediate redemption after his Casa Sports setback, Diadhiou referenced ex-teammate Demba Ramata’s philosophy onovercoming adversity.
“Falling is not bad, but getting up is the best thing. I hope to get back up very quickly.”
After winning two trophies last season, Diadhiou called for patience from Guédiawaye supporters despite an inherited squad brimming with potential.
“We are going to build a team. In a year or two it could bring something. It is through work that we will achieve things together,” he remarked.
Victory in his first match against Génération Foot indicates a positive start to Diadhiou’s tenure as he chases managerial revival with modest but ambitious Guédiawaye FC.
