Angola forward, M’Bala Nzola was sent off on Sunday during the clash between FC Nantes and RC Lens in the French Ligue 1.
The red was dished to the experienced striker after an alleged assault and battery on referee Brisard.
This happened after Nzola threw the football towards the matchday referee.
M’Bala Nzola, who came on in the 54th minute with Nantes leading 2-1, let his frustration boil over in the 70th minute, just five minutes after Lens had pulled one back. Unhappy with a decision, the striker hurled the ball toward the referee in protest.
Although Brisard managed to evade the incoming ball, he wasted no time in brandishing a straight red card.
Nzola’s dismissal further complicated Lens’ efforts to mount a comeback, and the match ended 3-1 in favour of Nantes.
The result meant that Lens have now suffered three consecutive defeats.
This season, Nzola has scored seven goals in all competitions for RC Lens. He must come back from his suspension a better man and a better player to score more goals for Lens to win games and climb higher on the French Ligue 1 standings.
