Paris Saint-Germain secured a thrilling 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, and Désiré Doué stole the spotlight with a brilliant equalizer.
The young French star reflected on the team’s relentless spirit, which shone through once again on the pitch.
“We have kept the state of mind that we put in each match. That is to say, put the intensity from start to finish, stay united, faithful to the game plan and it still worked tonight, so you have to continue like that,” Doué said.
Recalling his standout moment, he described the goal that leveled the score before halftime. “My first intention was to focus when I staggered. Afterwards, I saw that there was no option, so I chose the shot and it is in it,” he explained.
Doué couldn’t hide his joy at playing for PSG. “Of course, when you are surrounded by great players like that. The game is fluid, it goes fast. I take a lot of fun here and I am very happy to play in this team.”
Looking ahead, he urged his teammates to maintain their focus. “We know that we have a second half, a second game to make. We will approach the match in the same way, with the same seriousness. We’re going to go there to win.”
