Denmark international of Nigerian descent Patrick Dorgu has earned a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month award for January.
Dorgu, who is currently injured delivered a top-class performance for Manchester United, who defeated both Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League last month.
The versatile player was pivotal for the Red Devils, scoring in both games to ensure victory against title contenders, Manchester City and Arsenal.
Dorgu will face competition from seven players, who also shone for their respective clubs in the first month of 2026. He will have to beat competition from Yasin Ayari (Brighton), Enzo Fernández (Chelsea), Junior Kroupi (Bournemouth) and Summerville (West Ham).
Also in contention for the award include Igor Thiago of Brentford, Harry Wilson of Fulham, and Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz.
Meanwhile, Dorgu is currently nursing an injury he sustained in the high-stake Premier League clash against Arsenal last month. He is sidelined for ten weeks due to the setback.
The Denmark international of Nigerian descent has been a standout performer since joining United last season, making 22 Premier League appearances and contributing three goals and three assists.
His recent form has been particularly impressive, scoring two goals and providing an assist in his last five games before the injury.
