CS Sfaxien have ended their contract with manager Nabil Kouki following a 1-0 defeat by Taqaddum Sakiet Eddaier in the Tunisian league.
The club announced on Monday that the decision had been reached by mutual consent, bringing Kouki’s short spell in charge to an end.
Kouki took responsibility for seven matches after being appointed in July. His record consisted of three wins, two defeats and two draws.
The former manager is thought to have been dismissed partly because of comments he made during the news conference after the defeat. Kouki criticised several people connected with the club and raised concerns about what he described as deeper problems within the organisation.
“There are things eating away at the body of this club,” he told reporters.
“There are people paying money to attack me and spread false reports about the crisis surrounding the results,” he added.
Kouki also accused certain parties of attempting to put pressure on him to leave, or to persuade the club’s management to dismiss him.
His contract with CS Sfaxien had been due to run until the summer of 2027.
The Tunisian club’s announcement came after another difficult result, with the loss to Taqaddum Sakiet Eddaier leaving Kouki’s brief tenure unable to develop momentum.
Kouki’s previous coaching position was with Al Masry, whom he joined at the start of last season.
He left the Egyptian club after they were beaten 4-1 by Zamalek in the opening round of the final phase of the Egyptian league.
During his time with Al Masry, Kouki managed the team in 37 matches. They won 16, drew 13 and lost eight.
