Crystal Palace linked with Swiss-Congolese striker Winsley Boteli after prolific Sion start
Swiss-Congolese forward Winsley Boteli is attracting interest from Crystal Palace while he continues his first season at FC Sion.
The 20-year-old centre-forward has scored seven goals in six UEFA Conference League qualifying appearances for the Swiss club this season, adding three goals and an assist in four Super League matches.
Boteli joined Sion permanently from Borussia Monchengladbach II on 1 July 2026 in a deal worth €3.5m. He had spent the previous season on loan at Sion before returning to Monchengladbach, where his performances led to a permanent move back to Switzerland.
His early-season European form has now been followed by reported links with a switch to the Premier League, with Crystal Palace named as the club interested in taking him to England.
Boteli’s market value is listed at €5m, while his current contract with Sion runs until 30 June 2030. The forward was the top scorer in the A-Junioren Bundesliga West in the 2023-24 season, finishing that campaign with 21 goals.
He has made all six of Sion’s Conference League qualifying appearances, starting each match, and has started half of the club’s league games so far this term. Sion remain his current club, with the transfer link to Palace still at the rumour stage.
