Crystal Palace have targeted Alassane Pléa as a possible replacement for France international of DR Congo descent Jean-Philippe Mateta ahead of the summer transfer window.
Mateta, who has six caps for the France national team has been linked with a big-money move this summer. However, the Premier League outfit could turn to fellow Africa rooted player in the event of Mateta departure.
Palace are said to be considering French-Mali attacker Alassane Pléa, who plies his trade for Borussia Mönchengladbach as a possible replacement.
The former Nice forward has recently had an uptick in form and now has 17 goal contributions (11 goals, six assists) in 26 appearances across all competitions this season.
His performances have caught the eye of Crystal Palace but also of numerous other sides across Europe. Clubs in Ligue 1 and the Saudi Pro League are showing an interest in Pléa, whilst Besiktas are also considering a move for the Frenchman.
Mateta, on the hand, has racked up 15 goals and provided 3 assists in 33 appearances for Palace this season. His current contract with Palace is expected to expire in summer 2026.
