Marouane Chamakh’s move to Crystal Palace in June 2010 marked a turning point in his career after a challenging spell at Arsenal. At the Emirates Stadium, the Moroccan striker struggled to find success. However, his decision to join Crystal Palace proved to be a wise one, as it provided him with increased playing time and renewed confidence. Since joining Palace, Chamakh has made 22 appearances, including 19 starts, nearly doubling his playing time compared to the previous two seasons combined.
During his loan spell at West Ham last year, Chamakh only managed to make three appearances, highlighting the lack of opportunities he faced. Prior to that, his stint at Arsenal saw him feature in just 11 matches, with one goal to his name.
Ahead of an upcoming match against his former club Arsenal in the Premier League, Chamakh harbors no ill feelings. Instead, he expresses his delight at the prospect of returning to the Emirates Stadium.
“I am very happy to come back. I have very good memories at Arsenal,” stated the Moroccan international, reflecting on his time with the Gunners.
