What a disappointment for Monaco! Despite their aspirations for their first trophy under the ownership of Rybolovlev, the Principality club was defeated in the Coupe de France semi-final by Guingamp.
Guingamp owes their victory to their hero, Mustapha Yatabaré, who scored a crucial double. The Malian striker opened the scoring in the 7th minute. Although Monaco managed to equalize just before halftime, they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities. The match remained deadlocked, forcing the game into overtime.
It was during this extra time that Guingamp seized the opportunity to secure their victory. Fatih Atik scored a second goal, followed by Yatabaré’s decisive strike in the 117th minute. The final score was 3-1 in favor of Guingamp.
Guingamp will now face Rennes in the final.
