Copenhagen weigh move for Vipers’ Uganda midfielder Abubakali Walusimbi

Abubakali Walusimbi, the 17-year-old Uganda midfielder at Vipers, has been linked with a move to Copenhagen.

The Danish club, who play in the Superliga, are understood to be monitoring the central midfielder after his involvement in Vipers’ recent domestic success. Walusimbi has been credited with two Ugandan championships, winning the title with Vipers in the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

He made 18 appearances in the 2025-26 Uganda Premier League campaign, scoring once and providing three assists. His performances have come during his second full season with Vipers, having joined the club in July 2024.

Walusimbi was born in Kampala and is listed at 1.84 metres tall. He is valued at €75,000, although no transfer fee has been reported in connection with the potential move to Copenhagen.

The possible interest would represent a significant change of league for the teenager, from Uganda’s top flight to Denmark’s Superliga. However, the available details do not indicate that a transfer has been agreed or that negotiations have reached an advanced stage.

Walusimbi remains a Vipers player and is registered as a central midfielder for the Ugandan club.
