France international of Malian descent Ibrahima Konate is facing an uncertain future at Liverpool as he nears the expiration of his contract.
The 25-year-old tough-tackling defender, who joined Liverpool in 2021 will see his contract expire at the end of the season.
At the moment, contract extension talks between Liverpool and highly rated defender is not progressing, sparking concerns about the player’s future at the club.
Konate is subject of interest for several clubs heading into the summer transfer window, with Paris Saint no exception.
According to reports, interest from PSG could be a reason for the lack of progress in contract negotiations between the Premier League club and the 25-year-old.
The France international is requesting a pay increase of £120,000 a week, which Liverpool has yet to accept.
Meanwhile, the Premier League giants has already tied down Mohammed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk to a two year contract extension each.
Konate has made 38 appearances across competitions for Liverpool this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
