Congolese forward Rudolf Ndualu and Greifswalder held to stalemate against Chemie Leipzig

Greifswalder FC endured another frustrating evening as they were held to a goalless draw by Chemie Leipzig in a rescheduled match from the 23rd round of the German Regionalliga Nordost.

Ndualu and Greifswalder Struggle to Break Down Leipzig

Despite their ambitions of securing a vital win in the promotion race, Greifswalder found themselves unable to break through a resolute Leipzig defense.

Congolese striker Rudolf Ndualu featured in the encounter but, like his teammates, struggled to make a decisive impact against an opponent that arrived well-prepared and disciplined in its defensive structure.

The game plan set by Greifswalder did not unfold as intended, with Leipzig successfully neutralizing their attacking threats. As a result, the home side failed to convert their dominance into clear-cut chances, leaving them with yet another setback in their pursuit of a top finish.

A Challenging Road to Promotion

With just one spot available for the promotion play-offs, Greifswalder face an uphill task to close the gap on the teams ahead of them.

The latest draw leaves them in seventh place in the standings with 40 points, adding further pressure as they approach the final stretch of the season.

For Ndualu, however, there are personal positives. The former MSV Duisburg forward appears to have regained confidence since joining the club, following a challenging spell with Energie Cottbus last season where he struggled to make an impact.

Next Fixture: A Crucial Trip to Chemnitzer

Greifswalder will look to return to winning ways when they travel to face Chemnitzer FC on Saturday, March 29. With promotion hopes still mathematically alive, they will need a much-improved performance to stay in the race and reignite their challenge at the top of the table.
