Tracked by clubs from France, England, and Italy, Allan Kimbaloula is set to join the Congo national team for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for Morocco 2015.
With four goals and two assists in nine games since the start of the Estonian championship, the JK Nömme Kalju striker has caught the attention of French coach Claude Leroy.
Leroy, the former coach of Cameroon, DR Congo, and the Black Stars, has included the 22-year-old attacking midfielder, who was trained in Lille, among the 24 players called up for the match against Namibia on May 17.
“I can’t hide the fact that I was impressed to receive this phone call,” reveals Kimbaloula, who hails from Tourcoing. “I was very happy because I am part of a club that is much less exposed than some of the other members of the team.” With origins from Congo on his father’s side and Cameroon on his mother’s side, Kimbaloula has also caught the attention of the Espoirs des Lions Indomptables. “I don’t have much time to decide, it’s a very hard choice,” he concludes.
