The Comoros Islands’ national football team, known as the Coelacanths, has finalized its roster in Marrakech, marking a significant milestone as they gear up for upcoming friendly matches.
Since their arrival in Marrakech on Sunday, the first-ever Comorian delegation has been diligently preparing for two friendly encounters scheduled for the international break in March 2024.
Under the guidance of coach Stefano Cusin, the team is set to face Uganda on Friday, March 22, followed by a match against Angola three days later on March 25.
Training sessions commenced promptly on Monday evening at the annex stadium in Marrakech, laying the groundwork for the upcoming fixtures.
In a welcome development, the Comorian Football Federation announced this afternoon that Namibia’s African Stars striker, Ibroihim Youssouf, commonly known as “Djudja,” has joined the squad, completing the roster.
Expressing his enthusiasm upon arrival, Youssouf stated, “I have just arrived. But I don’t have time to rest because we will have training later.”
With the addition of Youssouf, the Coelacanths’ squad is now at full strength in Marrakech, fostering an atmosphere of optimism and determination as they continue their preparations for the upcoming challenges.
Tonight, the team is scheduled to convene for their third training session at the annex of the Grand Stade de Marrakech, demonstrating their commitment to refining their tactics and cohesion ahead of the anticipated fixtures.
