He is expected to put pen to paper before his official unveiling as the new trainer of the national team.
Abdou brings extensive experience across African football to his new role. He previously managed the Comoros national football team and Mauritania national football team, earning praise for his tactical acumen and leadership. His tenure with Comoros was particularly historic, guiding the team to their first-ever qualification for the round of 16 at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
