The Moroccan Committee for the 2030 World Cup continues its preparatory work to host the upcoming global football event, engaging in a series of meetings and regional tours in cities nominated to host this prestigious sporting occasion.
In this context, the committee, led by Fouzi Lekjaa, held a meeting represented by Maaz Hajji from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, with various stakeholders in the city of Fes.
Among them were the regional governor, representatives from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and primary education, professionals, and the company responsible for urban transportation within the city.
The aim was to present the agenda outlined by FIFA and discuss the details and ways to enhance readiness for the global event.
This meeting was part of a series of regional tours through which the organizing committee aims to scrutinize all the details related to the suitability of candidate cities to meet FIFA’s requirements, particularly in terms of the quality of stadiums, associated facilities, hotels, services, and transportation.
Morocco initially nominates six cities to host the 2030 World Cup: Agadir, Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, and Tangier.
The final decision will be made after reaching an agreement with the Spanish and Portuguese parties on the numerical and geographical distribution of the World Cup matches.
