Colorado consider MLS move for AZ Alkmaar winger Ibrahim Sadiq
Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Sadiq is linked with a move from AZ Alkmaar to Colorado in Major League Soccer.
The possible transfer was recorded on 1 September, with the 26-year-old’s future at the Eredivisie club emerging as a subject of interest ahead of a potential move to the United States. No probability or transfer fee has been established for the proposed deal.
Sadiq has not made an appearance for AZ in the Eredivisie this season, having also been absent from the club’s Johan Cruijff Schaal fixture. His current lack of playing time comes after he helped AZ win the Dutch Cup in the 2025-26 campaign.
The right winger joined AZ from Swedish club BK Hacken on 1 September 2023 in a deal worth €4m. He had previously won the Swedish title and Swedish Cup with Hacken, while finishing as the leading scorer in the 2023-24 Europa League qualifying campaign with five goals.
Sadiq began his senior career at Danish club Nordsjaelland after developing at Ghana’s Right to Dream academy. He has since established himself in European football, but remains tied to AZ under a contract running until 30 June 2028.
Any move to Colorado would therefore involve AZ deciding whether to part with a player who still has two seasons remaining on his current agreement.
