Colin Andrew: Goalkeeper linked with move to Czech side Zbrojovka Brno

FC Zbrojovka Brno have completed the signing of 21-year-old goalkeeper Colin Andrew from SK Dynamo České Budějovice on a permanent deal, bringing in one of the Czech second tier’s most rapidly rising young shot-stoppers. The transfer, registered as a standard move within the Czech National Football League (ChNL), sees Andrew leave České Budějovice’s first team to join Brno, where he is expected to compete immediately for a place in goal.

The switch keeps Andrew in the same division, as both clubs currently play in the ChNL, but it marks a clear step in his career trajectory. His contract at Zbrojovka Brno runs from 11/02/2026 to 30/06/2029. The official fee has not been disclosed, though his latest recorded market value stands at €275k, underlining how sharply his stock has risen over the past two years.

Born in Praha and holding both Czech and Nigerian nationality, Andrew arrives in Brno with a profile that combines physical presence and development potential. Standing at 1.98 m and preferring his left foot, he has been listed consistently as a specialist goalkeeper, progressing through the youth and reserve ranks before breaking into senior professional football with České Budějovice.

His pathway has been entirely within the Czech system. After early years at SK Hostivař Youth, he moved to FK Motorlet Prague Youth, then into the academy of SK Dynamo České Budějovice, rising from the U17s to the U19s and then to the B team. A short loan spell at FK Spartak Soběslav, followed by a return to Dynamo’s U19s, provided his first taste of senior-level preparation, before he earned a place in Dynamo’s B side and eventually in the first team.

That steady rise has been reflected in his market value history. Valued at just €25k while at Dynamo’s B team in mid-2023, he doubled that figure to €50k in 2024. After stepping up to the České Budějovice first team, his valuation accelerated, jumping to €150k in early 2025 and then to €175k later that year, before reaching €275k in December 2025. Zbrojovka’s move therefore comes at a moment when his upward curve is clearly established.

The transfer also has implications for squad planning at both clubs. With Andrew now under contract in Brno until the summer of 2029, Zbrojovka secure long-term depth in goal and protect any future resale value. Conversely, his departure from České Budějovice indicates a reshaping of their goalkeeping department and removes the possibility, at least in the short term, of him becoming a free agent.

Andrew’s dual Czech–Nigerian background gives the move a broader resonance. For Czech supporters, his development from Praha-based youth systems into a notable ChNL asset is another example of the domestic pathway functioning effectively. For Nigerian observers tracking Europe-based players with Nigerian roots, his progression and rising valuation make him a name to watch, particularly in a position where competition for national-team recognition is traditionally fierce.

Now firmly installed at Zbrojovka Brno, Andrew faces the challenge of converting potential into consistent senior impact. If he continues the trajectory that has driven his value from academy prospect to six-figure asset, this long-term move within the ChNL could become the platform that defines the next phase of his career and shapes his reputation in both Czech and Nigerian football circles.
