Morocco coach Walid Regragui has contacted newly signed AS Roma midfielder Nael El Aynaoui to decide his national team.
Despite featuring for Morocco at the youth level, the 24-year-old midfielder remain undecided whether to represent France or the North African country at the international level.
However, Regragui, who has increasingly grown frustrated has given the former RC Lens midfielder a deadline to determine his final position on representing the Atlas Lions.
Aside engaging Neil El Aynaoui, Regragui has also contacted his father, former Moroccan tennis player Younes El Aynaoui, to discuss the same issue.
Regragui maintained constant contact with Nael El Aynaoui during his time in the French league, meeting him on several occasions and presenting him with the Moroccan national team project. However, the player remained hesitant between representing Morocco or France.
Regragui this time expressed his displeasure with the player’s procrastination, giving him a final deadline to respond before announcing the Atlas Lions’ roster for next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Congo and Zambia.
The Morocco tactician will botch not to invite the midfielder in the future if he continues to hesitate.
