Moroccan coach Hussein Amotta, at the helm of Jordan’s football national team, acknowledged the challenging task facing his squad in their encounter against Malaysia on Monday, marking the opening round of the ongoing Asia Cup held in Qatar.

During the pre-match press conference, Amotta stated, “We need to be at the peak of concentration and play with high morale; the players are ready for the challenge.”

The Moroccan coach emphasized the motivational impact of Prince Ali bin Al Hussein’s visit to the team’s training sessions, noting the positive addition of Abdullah Abu Zema to the technical staff.

Amotta clarified that the substantial 1-6 defeat in the friendly against Japan resulted from individual errors during the match, asserting, “Fan support is a motivating factor for achieving victory, and we hope for a strong presence from supporters.”

The Jordan national team is placed in Group F, alongside Korea, Malaysia, and Bahrain.

The coach’s acknowledgment of the difficulties ahead and the emphasis on high morale and fan support paints a picture of the team’s determination and focus as they embark on their Asia Cup campaign.

Amotta’s strategic approach and recognition of both challenges and motivating factors aim to instill confidence in the squad and build momentum as they enter this crucial phase of the tournament.

Jordanians await the match with anticipation, hopeful for a strong performance that sets a positive tone for their Asia Cup journey.
