The referee for the World Cup play-off match between Senegal and Ivory Coast has been announced, and it is Algerian Djamel Haïmoudi. CAF has appointed Haïmoudi to officiate this crucial match between the Lions of Teranga and the Elephants.
Due to incidents during the October 2012 meeting as part of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Senegal is prohibited from hosting a home match. Therefore, Papis Cissé and his teammates will face Drogba and his companions at the Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca, Morocco.
In the first leg, Sabri Lamouchi’s team secured a 3-1 victory in Abidjan. Djamel Haïmoudi will be assisted by his compatriot Abdelhak Etchiali and the Moroccan Redouane Achik. The match officials’ team will be led by another Algerian, Mohamed Benouza.
