Cameroonian international and Bordeaux midfielder Landry Nguemo, who missed the first leg against Tunisia due to a heart attack, is eager to go for victory in the upcoming match. Nguemo shared his thoughts on the draw in the first leg, emphasizing the defensive efforts against Tunisia’s high pressure.
In his statement on the club’s website, Nguemo said, “We drew, 0-0, against Tunisia. It was a very complicated match. We were able to resist well. The Tunisians pressed us very high, and we defended well in the first half. We suffered less after the break.”
Reflecting on the missed opportunities, Nguemo acknowledges the importance of the upcoming home game. He stated, “Our response gave us a huge opportunity, unfortunately not realized. It’s a shame, but it will be another home game. We will have to be vigilant and not concede a goal; it is essential. However, we cannot afford to draw, so we will have to go for victory.”
Nguemo has a history of success against Tunisia, having scored against them on January 21, 2010, helping Cameroon qualify for the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations.
