Algeria’s national football team coach, Vahid Halilhodzic, has finalized his squad for the decisive second leg of the 2014 World Cup qualification playoff against Burkina Faso. Initially, he called up a list of 37 players for the training camp and has now trimmed it down to 26 players.
Notable changes include the absence of Adlène Guedioura and Essaïd Belkalem, who are suspended for the match. They have been replaced by full-backs Abderrahmane Hachoud and Aïssa Mandi. Ishak Belfodil, the Inter Milan striker, has been retained in the group. Halilhodzic has opted for a squad that includes 4 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 5 central midfielders, 4 attacking midfielders, and 4 forwards.
The first leg between Algeria and Burkina Faso ended in a 3-2 victory for Burkina Faso. The second leg will be crucial for both teams, with the winner earning a spot in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
