After several months of inactivity, Congolese defender Christian Luyindama is poised to resume his football career, this time in the Chinese Super League. Following his departure from Galatasaray in December, where he had been without a club, Luyindama is set to sign a two-season contract with Cangzhou Mighty Lions, a Chinese Super League club.
The 30-year-old, with 23 international selections for the Democratic Republic of Congo, brings a wealth of experience to the Chinese club.
Having previously played for TP Mazembe, Standard Liège, Galatasaray, and Antalyaspor, Luyindama’s career has seen him as a crucial figure in the locker rooms of Standard and Galatasaray.
Notably, he contributed to winning several trophies, including the Turkish Super League in the 2018/19 season.
Despite earlier speculations linking him to a return to Belgium, Luyindama opted for the Chinese Super League, aiming to make a significant impact with Cangzhou Mighty Lions.
The club, finishing 12th in the previous season, is banking on the defender’s experience to achieve better results in the upcoming campaign.
Currently in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Luyindama is diligently preparing for his move to China, emphasizing his commitment to returning to peak performance.
Valued at 200,000 euros by Transfermarkt, the defender is determined to contribute to Cangzhou Mighty Lions and re-establish himself as a formidable presence on the football stage.
As he embarks on this new chapter, Luyindama remains focused on showcasing his skills and dedication in the Chinese Super League.
