Christian Atsu has been named the “best player of the season” by Vitesse Arnhem’s fans, despite the club failing to secure a place in the Champions League. The Ghanaian winger, on loan from Chelsea to the Eredivisie team, concluded the season with impressive statistics, including 24 starts in 25 matches and 5 goals. This isn’t the first time Atsu has received such recognition, as he was previously voted the best player of the season in 2012 while at Rio Ave and on loan from FC Porto. Now, the question remains whether Chelsea will give him an opportunity in the Premier League next year.
In response to the accolade, Atsu expressed gratitude, thanking God, coaches, teammates, and all the fans of Vitesse who voted for him as the player of the season.
