Kaizer Chiefs came from two goals down to defeat Mamelodi Sundowns 4-2 in a dramatic DDC match at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday.
Sundowns appeared to be in control after Simphiwe Mlondo and Lehlohonolo Mahlangu scored in the first half, giving the hosts a commanding advantage.
Chiefs responded decisively after the break, beginning a comeback that saw Neo Bohloko score twice. Samkelo Msimango and Benjamin Eliyahu also found the net as Amakhosi completed an impressive turnaround.
Bohloko’s two goals represented his second brace in successive matches, and helped Chiefs maintain their perfect start to the campaign.
They had begun the season with a victory over arch-rivals Orlando Pirates last weekend, before producing another strong performance against Sundowns.
The result ended Sundowns’ early momentum in the reserve league. They had opened their campaign with a win against Durban City in Durban.
There were three other DDC fixtures on Sunday.
Milford recovered from their opening-day loss to Richards Bay by beating Kruger United 3-1.
Golden Arrows also recorded their first victory of the campaign, overcoming Polokwane City 3-2. They had started the season with defeat by AmaZulu.
Sekhukhune United and Marumo Gallants drew 1-1.
