Chelsea are still plotting a move to sign France-born striker of Cameroonian descent, Hugo Ekitiké, despite the breakthrough in the chase to recruit Liam Delap.
Liam Delap, 22, enjoyed a stellar campaign with Ipswich Town in the English Premier League during the 2024/25 campaign.
In the just-ended season, the youngster scored 12 goals and provided two assists after making 37 appearances for his club.
Impressed with the performance of Liam Delap, Chelsea have moved swiftly and sealed a deal to sign the striker.
The forward is set to sign for the Blues on June 1, 2025, officially.
Although Chelsea has bolstered their attack by signing Liam Delap, the club wants to add more firepower.
As a result, the club is still in the race to sign French-Cameroonian striker Hugo Ekitiké.
While Hugo is open to leaving Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, his club is demanding around 100 million euros for his services.
The fee is expected to make it difficult for Chelsea to sign the striker.
Nonetheless, the Blues are determined to do everything to poach the forward.
