Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing France-born defender of Malian descent Ismaël Doukouré.
According to reports, the English Premier League club has already submitted an offer to secure the services of the versatile player who can also play as a defensive midfielder.
Given that the France U21 international plays for BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 club Racing Club de Strasbourg, it should be a relatively straightforward case.
The outlet reports that BlueCo has submitted Doukouré a contractual proposal which includes a transfer to Chelsea FC. Doukouré has been one of the best-performing Alsatians under the tutelage of Lian Rosenior.
Last summer, BlueCo blocked Doukouré’s potential move to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, having recognised the defender’s promise.
Since then, his value has continued to rise, especially after a solid Ligue 1 campaign in which Strasbourg exceeded expectations by finishing seventh.
Doukouré, who is entering the final year of his contract with Strasbourg, is expected to bolster the squad of Chelsea, especially in the defense, if he seals the move this summer.
There will be more on the transfer in the coming weeks.
