AC Milan pulls out of chase for Nicolas Jackson amidst high price tag

Chelsea have placed a valuation of over £75 million on Senegal international Nicolas Jackson, as Newcastle United consider a move for the striker following their pursuit of RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško.

Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal two years ago, is now viewed as a key attacking asset at Stamford Bridge after netting 30 goals in 81 appearances in all competitions.

The 24-year-old’s importance has grown significantly, prompting the club to reject any notion of a discounted deal amid emerging interest.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are closely monitoring the outcome of the transfer battle between Manchester United and Newcastle for Šeško.

Both clubs have tabled offers for the highly rated 22-year-old forward, with Manchester United currently believed to be in pole position. Should Newcastle fail in their attempt to land Šeško, attention is expected to shift to Jackson as a priority alternative.

However, Chelsea have reportedly informed potential suitors that Jackson’s valuation exceeds the £75 million benchmark being floated in recent bids for Šeško.

Club insiders have reiterated that Jackson’s proven Premier League experience and continued development justify a higher price tag.

While Chelsea are open to strategic sales to balance their squad and finances, they are unwilling to lose a striker of Jackson’s calibre unless an exceptional offer arrives.

The club remains confident that Jackson, who has adapted well to English football, will be a central figure in their plans under manager Enzo Maresca.

Newcastle, who remain in the market for an elite-level striker ahead of the new season, are now assessing whether to test Chelsea’s resolve with a formal bid.

With the Magpies expected to make a decision depending on how the Šeško situation unfolds, Jackson’s future could become one of the defining subplots of the remaining weeks of the summer window.
