Chelsea have decided to part ways with French forward of Congolese descent, Christopher Nkunku.
According to reports in the English media, the Blues are planning a major squad overhaul this summer, with several players expected to be shown the exit door.
Nkunku, who was signed from German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in 2023, is believed to be among the players.
At the time, the 27-year-old was signed for a fee of €60 million, but injuries and inconsistent form have limited his impact at Stamford Bridge.
The attacker has managed only five goal contributions this season. He has scored three times and provided two assists.
Amid his looming exit from Chelsea, German giants Bayern Munich are reportedly still interested in securing his services in the summer transfer window.
The club showed interest last winter but could not agree on a deal with Chelsea due to the club’s high asking price
With Chelsea now keen on offloading the forward, it is likely that their demands will come down, giving Bayern Munich a better chance of signing the forward.
