Chelsea are reportedly preparing a bid for AC Milan’s Portuguese forward, Rafael Leão, as the summer transfer window approaches.
Leão, born to Angolan parents in Almada, Portugal, has been a standout performer for the Rossoneri, attracting interest from several top European clubs.
According to recent reports, AC Milan are open to selling Leão this summer, despite his contract containing a €175 million buyout clause.
The Italian club is said to be willing to negotiate for a more reasonable offer, prompting Chelsea to express their interest.
Initial conversations between the two clubs have taken place, indicating a clear intent from the English side to acquire the talented attacker.
Leão’s journey to prominence began in Sporting CP’s youth system, where he made his first-team debut in 2018.
Following a contractual dispute, he moved to French side Lille on a free transfer. His impressive performances in Ligue 1 led to a €35 million transfer to AC Milan in 2019.
Since joining the Serie A giants, Leão has made 248 appearances, scoring 68 goals and providing 53 assists.
