English side Chelsea are reportedly ready to proceed with the signing of England youngster Jamie Gittens.
Sources have revealed that the Blues want to pay the €65 million being demanded by Borussia Dortmund to secure the signing of the talented youngster.
While the two sides are now closer to an agreement, the official signing is not expected until after the FIFA Club World Cup final on July 13, as Dortmund prefer to avoid any distractions during the tournament.
It remains unclear whether Chelsea will pay the €65 million upfront or structure the deal with performance-based bonuses. However, reports indicate that Dortmund are open to a deal involving realistic add-ons.
This development effectively ends speculation linking Gittens to Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga champions, whose sporting director Max Eberl recently named the Englishman among their top transfer targets, are no longer in the race.
It is understood that Jamie Gittens is eager to make the switch from Dortmund to Chelsea and is confident he will succeed in the English Premier League.
