Premier League giants Chelsea have entered the race to sign Nigeria international Victor Okoh Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
The two-time Champions League holders has now turned to the Nigerian forward after losing interest in initial target Benjamin Sesko.
Chelsea want to provide a serious competition in attack for Nicholas Jackson and Marc Guiu following their inconsistent performance this season.
The Blues are reportedly ready to go all out to secure the services of Boniface from Leverkusen in the upcoming window.
Meanwhile, Manchester United and Arsenal are both monitoring Boniface’s situation, while Newcastle United have shortlisted as a replacement for in-demand Alexander Isak.
Chelsea are well aware of this rival interest and are ‘increasing’ their efforts to sign Boniface first. The club is currently planning talks with both the 24-year-old and Leverkusen in the near future.
The 24-year-old has racked up 20 goals and provided two assists from 40 matches across competitions this season.
